Always expanding my interests, I found this really nice article about micrometeorites on instructables.  So, being the avid armature astronomer, I had to try it out.  Can't say that having a reason to get a new piece of equipment doesn't hurt either.  So I took my Christmas money and ordered me a microscope off of eBay. This is a low power 20x-40x VanGaurd scope.

I have a Cannon A590IS camera now.  I really like this little camera. Once of the deciding factors for getting it was chdk.  This software loads off the flash card and gives a lot of options to use.  One of the features is having a remoter shutter control.  Of course this can be as simple as having a 5 volts of batteries, a push button, and wire that to a USB cable.  I figured out how I could make it harder.  Make it wireless!

I'm a sucker for a good project.  A friend of mine wanted a her xbox controller to have the functions of a thumb stick to be reversed for some games that don't allow software control of these actions.  Of course this progressed/digressed in to a full modded controller. The Board

I got a Bearcat BCT15 by Uniden a while back.  The main reason I got it was to be able to hear the weather and road conditions in the winter. It's also fun to listen to the hams.  I've heard Alaska talking to Australia on the way home from work.

BCT15 Radio Scanner

I like the radio a lot but I don't like the orange face nor can I really see it while driving to know what channel it is on.  Since this radio will hook up to a computer that means there is an API making it possible for me to make my own interface.  They do sell a remote face for these, but it's still the awful orange color and it is exactly like the one on the radio.  I want more of a simplistic favorites type of remote interface.  I can do the complicated stuff on the radio face while parked.

So, started the pic based remote interface.
