I have some ideas for "Kinetic Sculptures" for lack of a better term. The first thing for these sculptures is that I don't want them to run on batteries or require a electric socket. Another requirement is that its based on weights not springs. So for a proof of concept I went looking for a clock work escapement. Of course there are lots of these. So, since for some strange reason I have Lego's sitting around I tried to find Lego escapements to see if I could build one that worked. Well I found multiple Lego clock references but most required parts I didn't have readily at hand. Except for this one. I had tried making my own and various other escapements I had found, so upon finding this one it was more incorporated into what I had started than copied one for one. So here is what I ended up with.

Yea I made it on BibliOdyssey. My fungi prints are on this post about a third way down. I'm glad to be able to contribute. I'm adding this site to my web links. Now to find some time to get more scanned. |

I know I'm a little slow but I just found/shown Google wave. I'm impressed by the video. I've seen the Google web toolkit before but now I might have to see what I can do with this. I have some websites in mind and may have to go the Google route. |

I found this on make and just had to try it. Take a stereograph image and move the two slide over each other to make an image that gives the illustion of 3d. I tried this with one from then New York Public Library Digital Colection just to see. Well here are the results.
Please let me know which one you think is better. |

The weather page is still here. In the side menu there is a link to the full weather page. You can also book mark http://deadgekko.com/weather.html. In the top menu there is a different weather link. This one will keep you in the site and will have the same information at some point. I'll be updating both places as I get a chance. Hopefully the sites weather will be more useful than the full page but time will tell. |
