(my bad pun from "Stir of Echos")

Here is the chronicle of the hot tub.  Most people get a hot tub slap it on a patio and maybe hire an electrician to get it running.  Well as usual that's not the case here.  Months in the making...

Upon finding a great deal on a used hot tub I now had to figure out where to put it.  We didn't want to put it on the second story front deck.  That would have just been temporary and would have required a crane.  I need to drive in the drive way so that's out.  I didn't want to hike out behind the barn either so that was out.  That left this nice little place off the back porch to put it.  The problem was the 45 degree slope.

My Dad during our house inspection when we bought the place. Little did we know then...
Future location of the hot tub.

I got a Bearcat BCT15 by Uniden a while back.  The main reason I got it was to be able to hear the weather and road conditions in the winter. It's also fun to listen to the hams.  I've heard Alaska talking to Australia on the way home from work.

BCT15 Radio Scanner

I like the radio a lot but I don't like the orange face nor can I really see it while driving to know what channel it is on.  Since this radio will hook up to a computer that means there is an API making it possible for me to make my own interface.  They do sell a remote face for these, but it's still the awful orange color and it is exactly like the one on the radio.  I want more of a simplistic favorites type of remote interface.  I can do the complicated stuff on the radio face while parked.

So, started the pic based remote interface.

New Site Layout

I'm testing out Joomla for a new manager for my site.   I think this will let The Dead Gekko Society flourish with new projects and information.  For a bit I'll just be working on getting the site arranged and layed out.  Then I will start adding my current projects and some back ones I have saved up. Thats all for now.
